In August 2016, I left a stable job with a steady income and started Mindful Logistics. At that time, this was not an easy decision; my wife and I had newborn twins-a boy and girl and I knew that starting my own business may come with challenges and risks. It had always been my dream to own my own business. Working in the corporate world provided me a lot of valuable experience but, that did not satisfy me. My dream was to be an entrepreneur and to provide a valuable service to others. My wife, Alison, whose beloved Father and Grandfather each owned their own very successful businesses in Charlotte, NC, was very supportive of my dream. Her attitude, encouragement and positivity helped push me down the path to starting this business.
The goal I wanted to achieve was to help level the playing field for companies that ship with FedEx and UPS, giving them a stronger opportunity to negotiate contracts that would help them save money. Making companies more profitable was the goal and Mindful Logistics was born.
In less than 8 years I have helped companies save over $8 million. I get the most joy working and strategizing with companies to help them reduce their small parcel transportation costs thus, making them more profitable.
When I am not hard at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two children. Family game nights on a Friday evening, traveling to our favorite vacation spot in Seabrook Island, SC and enjoying sports with my family are some of my most treasured moments. I also enjoy staying active, including time at the gym, on my Peloton and coaching my son’s baseball team. I also love to grab a few hours during the week on the course-I love to golf with friends and clients.
